PC Workstations

There are two networked PC workstations in the Library for students and researchers. They are only for academic purposes, such as searching the catalogue, accessing electronic databases and e-journals, using our digital collections, carrying out research on the internet, and writing up projects, assignments, or papers.

Facilities for Laptop Users

Wireless hotspots are distributed throughout the Libraries, enabling laptop users to access the internet and the UCT network. There are two plug points available in the reading room at lower level by windows side and three plug-points at Cryptogam room upper level.

Connecting your Device to the UCT Network

You can connect to the UCT network yourself by following the instructions given on the Networking pages of the ICTS web site.

Available Study Zones

Lower level with 19 study seats is a Mixed study zones where you can have occasional conversation at low speaking voice.

Silent study zone at Upper level or Cryptogam library with 15 study seats. This zone is for individual work only and no conversation is allowed.

No Group study zone is available. The nearest group study facility available is at the Chancellor Oppenheimer Library.
